The Alliance of Progressive Labor vehemently condemns the brutal killing last August 31, 2004 of Greg Gamba, Vice-Chairman of Confederation of Cavite Drivers and Operators Association (CONCADOA) and the Executive Officer of the National Transportworkers Union (NTU) for PUJ, by two unidentified gunmen.
The murder, which happened just before dawn at Area D-Dasmariņas terminal in Cavite, is a clear violation of human rights. The gunmen and/or mastermind have no right to take the life of a person for whatever reason. The treacherous shooting of Greg Gamba is an act of cowardice that should be condemned, deplored, and prevented from happening again.
We share the grief of the love ones left by Mr. Gamba and call on the local police to conduct a thorough investigation and immediately bring the culprits to justice.
